Smoking Cessation

Smoking is the single greatest cause of preventable illness and premature death in the United Kingdom; it kills around 120,000 people in the UK alone in one year, that is equal to 13 people an hour. It has been estimated that treating illness and disease caused by smoking is costing the National Health up to £1.7 billion every year.

Like any habit, the smoking habit is an acquired pattern of behaviour that has become almost involuntary as a result of frequent repetition. Most people go about trying to break a habit in the wrong way. They try to physically change their behaviour before they've changed the way the mind relates to the habit.

stop smoking with Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis 'reframes' how you feel about smoking so that you are no longer 'giving up' which implies losing something. Instead you appreciate how your fitness has improved, how good things taste and smell now that our senses are no longer being damaged by the chemicals you used to inhale. You will notice how your breathing becomes easier and how much more energy you have gained... not to mention the money you have saved. There are many methods for helping someone to stop smoking, essentially it is important that you attach the negative (energy or emotion) to Smoking and the positive to Not Smoking. The Hypnosis session lasts around 90 minutes. Hypnotherapy for smoking cessation is completed in a one off session.

What about putting weight on if I give up?
Any possible alternative habits are taken care of in the carefully worded session and you will find that you feel great, without resorting to other habits such as nail-biting or overeating..

What about people tempting me afterwards?
Because you will be able to quit without tension or irritability there should be no temptation to continue smoking if somebody offers you a cigarette. The desire to smoke to reduce stress simply won't be there.

The benefits of quitting smoking
Some smokers, especially those who have smoked for years, believe that the damage to their health is irreversible. However you should be aware that it is never too late to stop smoking. In fact the benefits of quitting start immediately.
